East Windsor

Recommend the shrimp and calamari appetizer with a nice mayo sauce for dipping.

Americana Dinner sets up my meeting in East Windsor, NJ.  Not your ordinary dinner.

Morristown, nj

Nice night back at Washington Street Bistro and our usual cod pie selection.  Don S. seemed to enjoy the heirloom tomato salad, the pate terrine and the pan-seared fish special. Yes the man can eat!

Nice way to chill after golf with LPGA at End of Elm.  Drink is called Make Me Something with fig vodka (of course).  A little sweet but refreshing and the wings were tasty.

An early birthday celebration at South and Pine in Morristown. Started with some spicy bbq shrimp. The duck was nicely done as usual even though they were out of figs (I could have brought mine!)  Leslie had the salmon with black cous cous.  Beautiful night with a needed cool breeze!

Not quite Morristown but Morris Plains H2Ocean has an interesting presentation of Shrimp.

Food in Morristown starts and ends with the cod pie at Washington Street Bistro.  Amazing.

The NJ Shore

I had one of my new favorite Egg Benedicts today at the Buttered Biscuit Cafe in Bradley Beach, NJ today.  Smoked salmon is the perfect complement to the eggs, red onions and spinach. Leslie had the Hot off the Grill Crumb cake. Last time there really like the homemade corned beef hash. Thanks to the Frost's of Spring Lake for the recommendation.

The Blend in Manasquan had the most unusual presentation for the asian calamari.

Parker House just works - Lobster, shrimp and mini-burgers.  Out on the porch makes the beach shutdown not too bad!
Last night before my meeting in Neptune got the chance to order the Jalapeño poppers at Local Smoke.  Something really wrong about Jalapeño peppers wrapped in bacon and stuffed with pulled pork and cream cheese.  Gotta say it was good though. #feelingguilty

Charleston, SC

One of our best food trips was to Charleston, South Carolina. So many good restaurants for Breakfast and Dinner;  so stuffed we couldn't eat lunch!

Thanks to Connor's former coach at Quinnipiac, Bruce Frady, for helping us navigate the Charleston scene including Charleston Grill and the roof top bars at Market Pavilion (really cool scene with a pool and great views) as well as The Vendue.

I had to have the shrimp and grits, a southern classic, at Hominy Grill a perfect brunch location.  The Beermosa was a first for me as well.

First dinner was at FIG (Food is Good) and it turned out to be one of the best meals we had. I had hoped for a meal with my favorite fruit - figs but that was not meant to be.  Deceptive advertising! :)

Had to ask the waiter at Husk to get me a knife to cut the coffee but really hit the spot.
Grill 225 makes a fine steak with some crispy onion strings.

Slightly North of Broad (SNOB) had some of the best clams ever.

Benedict Oscar with a real slab of steak was unusual but excellent at Another Broken Egg.

Jupiter, Florida

Memories of one of my favorite restaurants which happens to be in Jupiter, Florida - The Food Shack. Fresh fish and other ingredients used simply and perfectly. A nice selection of beers just works perfectly with fish stew bowl, grouper and fish egg rolls or pretty much anything on the menu. Don't let the front of the shop fool you.

Madison, Chatham, Short Hills,nj and Milton, Conn

Welcome to Karl's Kravings where I will post my favorite meals.  No negative reviews here just really good food.  More pics and food to come.

Happy 27th Birthday (according to him only his 25th but . . .) to Tyler on July 21st which we spent as usual at Benihana in Millburn, NJ.  The usual shrimp and steak for Dad. The Birthday song at the end is a must since my parents used to embarrass me that way as well.

Love the Dirty Jerz Duck sandwich at Slamwich Kitchen in Madison, NJ

Great breakfast in Milton, Conn. at the Corner Brunch Restaurant.  Spiced Indian Duck Tortilla.

Most recent dinner at Serenade in Chatham, NJ.  Bacon appetizer.  Lobster Dinner and Sea Bass Dinner. Here are my pictures:

Wonderful night back at Serenade last night for the Prix Fixe dinner with great friends.  Went with the Lobster bisque as an appetizer and the Steak with a real nice sauce on top.  Never disappointed there but way too much food! :) :)

Started with a crisp Rathaus beer (not a good name but good beer) in a really cool glass. Don S. enjoyed the octopus and Jeff S. raved about one of our favorites the bacon.
