Mountain Lakes, Livingston and Morris Plains

I heard good things about the Station at Mt. Lakes and Connor and I really liked the place. Started with the Firecracker calamari as an app and then moved on to the panko crusted tilapia and the chicken and shrimp jambalaya - nice!  Sauce from the Jambalaya was special. Pictures below.

In the Livingston area for Saturday lunch so dropped by Eppes Esson Deli for corned beef.  "They" say best jewish deli this side of NYC.

 Firecracker calamari and octopus.

Dinner at Zinbergers in Morris Plains. Nice atmosphere, big TV's and a Tasty Burger.  Got the Kobe beef burger and worth the extra $'s.

Tilapia and Chicken and Shrimp Jambalaya.

Hoboken and Bernardsville

updated: 2/19/17
Saturday night at Osteria Morini in Bernardsville where the appetizers stole the show.  We shared the BURRAT creamy mozzarella, with prosciutto, pickled persimmon, walnuts, saba.

The Third appetizer was a calamari and shimp combo.
The meatballs were excellent and made from prosciutto and mortadella braised in pomodoro, fonduta, grilled rustic bread.

What a glorious day Sunday in Hoboken with temperatures in the 60's in February. Because everyone was out with and without their dogs we had a tough time finding an outside patio for Murphy but settled on McSwiggens. We had a nice late lunch with Connor. with $6 drinks and my buffalo chicken wrap hit the spot.  Murphy loved the pier/park on 1st street overlooking NYC.

We spent a nice Saturday in Hoboken starting with a strong bloody mary at Amanda's and great beer at Pilsner Haus.  Beer went great with my Polish Kielbasa and Leslie's Portobello mushroom and Gruyere sandwich grilled.  Went out smiling with two free huge!!! mugs for Pilsner Haus' 40th anniversary.

Day ended with one of our favorite fish tacos and fried calamari at the Station in Bernardsville with good friends Matt and Caryn Miller.
